Your MTSS Coach and SEL Expert

Joyce A. Debrah is a passionate educator, consultant, and champion for Adult Social & Emotional Learning (SEL) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). With over 25 years of experience in schools, nonprofit organizations, and district leadership, she has devoted her career to supporting educators, empowering school leaders, and building thriving school communities where both students and staff can succeed.

As the founder and lead consultant of E3 Consulting Solutions, Joyce is on a mission to Educate, Equip, and Empower educators to create inclusive, engaging, and high-impact learning environments. She specializes in coaching school and district leaders to build emotionally intelligent teams, strengthen instructional practices, and implement data-driven strategies that support the whole child. Her expertise in MTSS, SEL, restorative practices, and school climate transformation helps schools turn vision into action—leading to stronger outcomes for students and staff. She co-led the implementation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support for the third-largest district in the nation, with over 600 schools and 385,000 students.

Joyce has worn many hats throughout her career—teacher, team lead, assistant principal, network and district administrator—which has given her a deep appreciation for the challenges and triumphs of school leadership. She is also a dynamic professional development provider, having presented at major conferences like the CASEL Cross District Leadership Conference, the International Conference on Positive Behavior Supports, the Black SEL Summit, and the EduArmenia Conference.

As a certified Real Colors® facilitator, Joyce integrates temperament theory into her leadership development and professional learning sessions, helping educators strengthen communication, collaboration, and team dynamics. By leveraging Real Colors® insights, she empowers school leaders to build stronger relationships, improve staff culture, and create more inclusive and emotionally intelligent learning environments that drive student and staff success.

Outside of Work

Beyond her consulting work, Joyce is a dedicated leader in SEL advocacy at the state level. She is an integral part of the SEL4IL Alliance Leadership Team, where she serves as Treasurer, Advocacy Chair, and Programming Committee Member. In this role, she has played a key part in relaunching SEL4IL, establishing financial structures, expanding programming, and strengthening the organization’s advocacy efforts to promote research-based social and emotional learning (SEL) across Illinois schools and communities. Her work has helped connect educators, policymakers, and community stakeholders to advance equity-driven SEL practices.

A dedicated lifelong learner, Joyce holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Iowa, a Master’s in Urban Education from Saint Xavier University, and a second Master’s in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, continuing her journey of growth and impact.

Above all, Joyce finds the greatest joy in being a mom to two daughters who are both college graduates pursuing their dreams. Her love for learning, coaching, and community-building is rooted in her belief that when we invest in people, we create lasting change—and she is honored to be a part of that work every day.
